Simple terms for using ClanBite
Last updated 24 October 2026.
What ClanBite is
ClanBite is a family meal planner with home business tools (orders, bills, calendar and sales). It runs on your own Google account: your planner is a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive (or, if you joined a family, in your family admin's Drive).
Service terms and plans
ClanBite is currently in early access. Subscription and payment terms will be clearly shown inside the app before any billing applies, and your data will always stay in your own (or your family admin's) Drive to keep.
Your information is yours
You own everything you put into ClanBite. We only use it to run the features you use. Read the privacy policy for the details.
Using ClanBite fairly
- Use ClanBite only for your own family and your own business, and only with a Google account that is yours.
- Do not try to break, overload or misuse the service, or to reach other people's data.
- You decide who joins your planner and which role they get. You are responsible for what they do in it.
The tools are helpers, not advice
Meal suggestions follow the rules you set, but they are a guide and not medical, diet or allergy advice. Check ingredients yourself. Bills, GST and totals are made from the details you enter. Check them, and ask your accountant if you are unsure what tax applies to you. You are responsible for your bills and tax returns.
Availability
We try to keep ClanBite working, but it is offered as it is, with no promise that it will always be available or without errors. During the early test the number of people who can sign in is limited by Google. We may change or stop features, and we may remove access for anyone who misuses the service. Your sheets stay in your Drive either way.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, ClanBite is not responsible for losses that come from using it, for example a missed order or a wrong total. Keep your own records of anything important.
Changes
ClanBite may change this Privacy Policy, these Terms of Use, or any part of its features or software at any time, without any advance notice to you or to any user. The version published on this page is the version that applies. We do not need to warn you before it changes.
A change does not take away anything you have already planned, saved or been sent. If we remove a feature or stop part of the service, we will do our best not to delete your data or your planner, and we will not make a change that takes away a right you already have under Indian law.
By continuing to use ClanBite after a change has been published, you accept it.
Disputes and settlements
Please talk to us first. Most things are easiest sorted by a message. If you can, email contactus@clanbite.in and we will try to put it right. Nothing in this section stops you from going straight to arbitration or to a court.
These terms apply to you from the moment you accept them. The arbitration arrangement in this section binds only a person who has agreed to these terms, and only in respect of a dispute arising after that agreement. Nothing in this section applies to anyone who has not agreed to these terms.
Governing law and rules. These terms, and any dispute about them or about your use of ClanBite, are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that is not settled by talking to us will be resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (as amended from time to time), and not by approaching a court directly.
- Seat and place. The seat of arbitration is Mumbai, India, and the arbitration will be held in Mumbai.
- Arbitrator. The dispute will be referred to a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement of the parties. If we cannot agree on a name within 30 days, each of us will appoint one and the two arbitrators will appoint the presiding arbitrator, whose decision is final.
- Language and procedure. The language of the arbitration will be English. The arbitrator will follow the Act and any rules of procedure agreed between us; failing agreement, the arbitrator's own procedure, provided it is fair to both sides.
- Our first offer to settle. Before the arbitration begins, one of us will make a written offer to settle. You will have 30 days to accept it. If you accept, the matter ends there — we will do what the offer says and the dispute is over.
- Interim help. Either of us may ask the arbitrator for interim measures under Section 17, and may approach a court under Section 9 only where the Act allows it.
- Our mutual undertaking. You and we each agree to keep the arbitration and its outcome confidential, and not to publish anything about it. We will not use anything you tell us privately to argue against you.
- What the award means. The award will be final and binding on us both under Section 35. Neither of us may appeal it on the ground that we simply disagree with it.
- Which courts, and for what. The only challenge to the award is an application to set it aside under Section 34, and it must be made within 3 months of receiving the award, on the limited grounds the Act allows. That application, and enforcement of a valid award under Section 36, will lie only to the competent courts at Mumbai. No other court has power to re-open the dispute on its merits.
- Nothing unlawful is taken away from you. Nothing here excludes any right or remedy that Indian law does not allow us to exclude. If any part of this section is not valid under applicable law, that part is severed and the rest continues.
